Church In The City - Beth Abraham
List of Ministries
Church in the City – Beth Abraham is a culturally, racially, and economically diverse church in inner-city Denver, Colorado. We combine both conservative, charismatic Christian and Messianic Jewish congregations into a cohesive whole that functions seamlessly as a single body. We conduct both Shabbat and Sunday services, and we pride ourselves on being able to bring down the wall between Jew and Gentile. We refer to this process as “putting on the new wine skin.” Church in the City is a diverse family of believers committed to knowing Jesus Christ, living passionately in Him and making Him known in our community and throughout the world. Our mission is to grow the saved, save the lost and care for the downtrodden. We have a wide variety of ministries (below) to serve those who come to us.

In the Equipping Center, classes and seminars will be offered by the pastoral staff and other qualified teachers that will instruct Christians into “accurately handling the word of truth” (2Tim.2:15).

Our mission is to promote the vision of CITC BA to be committed to knowing Jesus Christ, living passionately in Him and making Him known to those individuals and their families who have been impacted by an experience of incarceration. We will work on saving souls, giving hope and guiding individuals into a new way of life through the Word of God.
The following branches of the Prison Ministry are designed to support, encourage and train individuals and families in their walk with God.

Puppet Ministry
Enhancing Children's Ministry
Vision
Almost EVERYONE loves puppets, and puppets can be used as tools to communicate God’s love and His creativity. Puppets are FUN, and middle school and high school students are welcome to join the CITC-BA Puppet Ministry. The team meets every Friday from 7pm to 8:30pm in “The Base” building. Adults can get involved by helping direct, building props for the sets, or by sewing costumes and curtains.
Our Mission
Although our main goal is to enhance children’s ministry by telling bible stories and teaching life lessons, something greater is usually accomplished.
The team members:
•learn that God has a purpose for their life and can use them in ministry
•begin to “own” their faith
•use creative skills
•have fun at church
•build relationships with one another
•learn to work as a team and encourage one another
•learn the importance of knowing God’s word
Puppets and Scripts
CITC-BA is well equipped with 15 puppets, a huge stage, and a Jerusalem set. We have a camel, fish, dinosaur, mouse, green monster, and a variety of ethnically diverse puppets. There are bible character puppets of Jesus, Goliath, a priest, and Moses. We’re hoping to obtain black light puppets in the future. The team uses bible scripts, life story scripts, and music scripts. We’ve created some videos which can be found on YouTube under “CITC Puppet Team” and “Puppets Break Out at CITC”.
Rehearsals and Performances
Rehearsals involve washing hands, arm exercises, prayer, relationship building, script writing, reading through scripts, and rehearsing the scripts, bible discussions, and prop building. We have performed for the Children’s Ministry, Youth Ministry, and during the church services. Hopefully, we will get the opportunity to perform in parks and at other ministry venues.

Refugee Ministry
Lifting the Light of Hope for Those With Nowhere to Go
The Refugge Ministry at CITC-BA ministers to people who have been forced to flee their countries of origin becuse of a well-founded fear of persecution due to race, religion, nationality, or membership in a particular social or political group. Most refugees that we help come from Central African countires, such as DR Congo, Rwanda, Burundi, or any country that has experienced political or religious oppression.

Shabbat School
Teaching the Next Generation of Believers From a Jewish Perspective
Beth Abraham’s Shabbat School offers classes for children ranging from the nursery to 6th grade (ages 2 – 12).
Nursery aged children are cared for by a loving and nurturing nursery care worker along with other helpers as needed. The other classes are taught by adults who are committed to love and instruct the youth at Beth Abraham in the Word of God and Messianic Judaism.
We are using the First Fruit of Zion Children’s Torah Club curriculum (www.ffoz.org). The Children’s Torah Club is a Messianic, Messiah-centered curriculum for ages 5-10 that is presented as a weekly activity in the form of 8-page booklets. Each booklet is based on the contents of the weekly Torah portion, and teaches Torah principles from a messianic perspective, through questions and fun filled activities, puzzles and games. The program also contains a Hebrew lesson for every letter in the aleph-bet, all related to the specific Torah portion. The Hebrew learning track will enable children to learn the complete Hebrew alphabet and a simple Hebrew vocabulary. All of the lessons are designed and written to bring life in Messiah to the children as revealed in both the Tanakh (Old Covenant) and the Brit Chadashah (New Covenant) and to draw both the student and teacher into a more intimate relationship with God. The Biblical Feast Days, as well as the traditions and culture of the Jewish people, are also taught and experienced in class.
We haven’t forgotten about fun! The children will also be participating in congregational Feast Day celebrations with crafts, songs, plays, games, and other activities that bring the entire Church in the City-Beth Abraham community together.
Teaching the next generation of believers is a real blessing and privilege. Not only do the students hear Bible stories, memorize Bible verses, and study Scripture, but they share in each other’s lives through discussions and prayer. Parents are encouraged to take an active role in their children’s spiritual development during the week by reading the Torah Portions with their children in preparation for the next Shabbat School, continuing discussions about their Shabbat School lessons, and praying together as a family.

Street Evangelism
Getting Back to Our Roots
Church in the City – Beth Abraham began more than 20 years ago as a small group of individuals who ministered on the streets, in the back alleys, in the shelters, and in the bars of Inner-City Denver. Today, we actually have a church home, but our commitment to the great commission continues, carried forward by a similar but younger group of dedicated individuals. We still minister on the streets and in the alley ways, at festivals and gatherings, and basically anywhere we find the opportunity to bring the Good News of the Kingdom of God.

Women's Fellowship
Women Coming Together to Share Our Hearts and the Love of Christ
There are many services offered to Beautify you on the outside, but how many are devoted to beautify you on the inside?
“Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as braided hair and the wearing of gold jewelry and fine clothes. Instead, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God's sight.” 1 Peter 3:3-4
You are invited to join the Women’s Fellowship as we continue our study on “The Women of the Bible.” Join us as we examine the lives of the Women recorded in scriptures, both good girls and bad! We will glean from the pages of the Bible to understand what makes a Woman of Worth in God’s sight! So break away with us…
