Ever feel like life is a juggling act, and someone just tossed you an extra ball…or three? 🎪 One minute, everything seems manageable, and the next, you’re trying to keep it all from crashing to the ground. This past weekend, Michael Walker’s message, “A Time for Everything as We Are Being Prepared for Eternity,” reminded us that even when life feels out of control, God is still in control.
Michael pointed us to Ecclesiastes 3:14: “I know that everything God does will endure forever; nothing can be added to it and nothing taken from it. God does it so that people will fear Him.” This verse is a great reminder that no matter how crazy things get, God’s work in our lives is unchangeable. He’s not improvising or making things up as He goes along—He’s got a plan, and He’s sticking to it.
One of the things Michael said that stood out to me was, “We may feel like things are falling apart, but God is holding everything together.” Ever have a day where nothing seems to go right? Maybe your car wouldn’t start, you spilled coffee on your favorite shirt, and it feels like the whole world is against you. But God is never surprised by our circumstances. He sees the big picture, even when we can’t.
So, what can we do when life feels like it’s spinning out of control? We can choose to trust that God knows exactly what He’s doing. Instead of trying to fix everything ourselves, we can take a deep breath and remember that He’s got us. Share a time when you felt like everything was falling apart, but later realized God was at work in ways you couldn’t see. Your story might bring hope to someone who’s feeling overwhelmed right now.
Michael reminded us that it’s okay to feel like you’re not okay—God meets us right in that place. He uses even our messiest moments for His glory. Just like a tapestry, where the back looks like a jumbled mess of threads, but the front reveals a beautiful picture, God is weaving something amazing in your life. Even if right now, it looks like a mess from the back!
Think about a situation that felt completely out of control. How did God show up in the middle of it? Maybe you found peace in a surprising place, or someone offered help just when you needed it. Share your experience in the comments—we’d love to hear how God worked through your “mess.”
Let’s pray: Lord, when life feels like it’s spiraling, help me to trust that You are still in control. Remind me that You see the big picture, even when I don’t. Give me the peace to let go of what I can’t control and to trust You with every part of my life. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Remember this: God is never surprised by our chaos. Even when life feels messy, He’s working behind the scenes to create something beautiful.
