Have you ever watched a movie where the main character realizes they’re running out of time, and suddenly everything they do becomes urgent and meaningful? Life can feel like that sometimes—a race against the clock. But Michael Walker’s message this past weekend, “A Time for Everything as We Are Being Prepared for Eternity,” reminded us that there’s more to life than just rushing through the day. We’re made for eternity, and every moment is an opportunity to live with that in mind.
Michael brought up Ecclesiastes 3:11 again: “He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also, He has put eternity in their hearts.” It’s like we’ve been hardwired to know that there’s something beyond this world, something more than just the daily grind. No wonder we sometimes feel like we’re longing for something we can’t quite explain!
Michael said, “We’re not just living for the here and now; we’re living for what comes next.” That’s a powerful thought. It means every decision, every choice, and every action we take has a ripple effect in eternity. Imagine if we treated our everyday moments like they mattered forever. How might that change the way we spend our time, our money, or even how we treat people around us?
Think about this: What would you do differently today if you truly believed you were living for eternity? How might you spend more time loving others, forgiving quickly, or even finding joy in the small things? Comment below with one thing you’d change or focus on if you kept eternity at the forefront of your mind!
Michael reminded us that living with eternity in mind doesn’t mean we ignore today’s responsibilities—it means we infuse them with purpose. So whether you’re washing dishes, driving to work, or helping a friend, remember that each action can be done for God’s glory. It’s not about doing more; it’s about doing what we do with an eternal perspective.
Take a moment to think about the people in your life who don’t know they’re made for eternity. How can you show them God’s love today in a practical way? Maybe it’s a kind word, a prayer, or just being present with them. Your life might be the only “sermon” they hear. Share in the comments how you plan to live out eternity today—your example could inspire others!
Let’s pray: Father, thank You for placing eternity in my heart. Help me to live each day with that in mind, making choices that honor You and show Your love to those around me. Give me the wisdom to see each moment as an opportunity to reflect Your grace and truth. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
You were made for more than just this moment. Keep eternity in mind, and let it guide every step you take.
