Hey there! I’m excited to share today’s devotional with you. We’re going to take a deeper look into a powerful message shared this past weekend by Paul Wilber titled “The 3 P’s of Warfare: Lessons From The Battlefield.” This message is all about learning how to fight the battles of life God’s way, and trust me, it’s something we can all relate to. Whether you’re facing struggles at work, difficulties in your relationships, or even challenges in your personal faith journey, this message has something to offer.
Now, before we go any further, let me ask: Have you ever been in a situation where you just didn’t know how to fight back? Maybe it was something emotional, like feeling down or overwhelmed, and you didn’t know where to turn. Well, today we’re going to learn how one of the greatest tools we have in spiritual warfare is our praise.
Paul Wilber opened his message by talking about the first “P” in warfare: Praise. We may not think of praise as a weapon, but in God’s Kingdom, it’s one of the most powerful ways we can fight our battles.
“Praise be to the Lord my Rock, who trains my hands for war, my fingers for battle.” (Psalm 144:1, NIV)
Wilber shared how King David understood this deeply. He knew that praise wasn’t just about singing songs; it was a way of declaring God’s greatness and reminding ourselves that the victory is already won. The enemy hates praise because it shifts our focus from the problem to the God who is greater than the problem.
Now, I know what you’re thinking: How can singing a song help me in my battle? Well, it’s not just about singing. It’s about engaging with God’s truth. When you lift your voice in praise, you’re acknowledging that God is in control, even when things feel out of control.
When was the last time you praised God in the middle of a challenge? How did it impact you? Do you find it hard to focus on God’s power when life feels overwhelming? Why do you think that is?
“We win our battles on our knees, but we declare victory with our voices.” – Paul Wilber
That’s powerful, right? Wilber encouraged us to use our voices to proclaim God’s victory, even when we’re still in the heat of the battle. Just like David, we can “bend the bow of bronze” (Psalm 18:34), not through our own strength, but through the strength of the God we praise.
Let’s pray: Lord, help me to praise You even when it’s hard. I want to see my battles through Your eyes, knowing that You are the God who goes before me and fights on my behalf. Remind me to praise You in every situation and to trust that victory is already mine in You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Praise shifts the atmosphere. It’s more than just words or songs; it’s a declaration of faith. The next time you feel surrounded by difficulty, lift up your voice in praise and watch how it changes your perspective.
